As SCC students attend classes, chit chat in the Student Union and stress over cramming for an exam, the men and women of our Armed Forces fight for our freedom. Last fall, the students in the EOF Club adopted a soldier named Jordan Puga. Each month the students prepare a care package and send it overseas to show their support. If you would like to donate one of the following items to be shipped in the next care package, please bring your item to Mrs. Paredes in Student Services. Our soldier would enjoy receiving: magazines, books, letters from SCC students, a local newspaper, candy, gum, individually wrapped baked goods and/or something seasonal (St. Patrick's Day goodies, Easter candy).

Just what is the EOF Club? The EOF Club is an interactive group of students who strive to better themselves and their community by participating in various activities both on and off campus. As it stands, the EOF Club is a versatile organization of students and advisors that engage in fundraising, charity, community service, and educational awareness projects. Other objectives of the EOF club are to improve campus life, by offering workshops, field trips, entertainment, and financial assistance. By participating in activities such as letter writing campaigns, volunteer events, fundraising opportunities and biweekly club meetings, students gain valuable real-life experience and hone their skills in teamwork, leadership, and social interaction. The EOF Club possesses a broad range of activities that encourages the flow of new ideas and gives students the chance to make a difference in the world around them.

Why join the EOF Club?
Here are a few reasons to consider:
1. Take real-life experiences wherever you go in the future.
2. A way to help the community by volunteering your time.
3. Notable to other schools and job resumes.
4. Available to all students (not just EOF Students).
5. Activities may be in collaboration with other clubs.
6. Benefit from certain events (i.e. college visits and retreats).
7. Campus News and Information Sharing.
8. Promote other organizations you're involved with (i.e. Big Bro & Big Sis).

To find out more about the EOF Club, talk to one of the Club Officers: President Brandi McCoy, Vice President Lauren Lee, Secretary Peter Liu, or Treasurer Arnaldo Mendoza. Call Jeanette Paredes, Club Advisor, at 351.2749 for more information.
